Before corrugated cardboard was readily available, fruit was generally shipped in wooden crates adorned with colorful lithographed labels often created by famous artists. This form of advertisement unfortunately disappeared as the crates did--in the middle of the 20th century. Fortunately for us, some of these incredible labels were found in the abandoned factories years and years later in mint untouched condition. At All Barn Wood, we recently came across a great supply of a variety of vintage and antique fruit crate labels in addition to can and bottle labels and are making them available in small quantities to you. These represent history--they are not reproductions, but are the real, authentic thing.
